  Hall D Staff Meeting, December 7, 2020

Present: Alexander Austregesilo, Eugene Chudakov (chair), Mark Dalton, 
Alexandre Deur, Sergey Furletov, Mark Ito, Igal Jaegle, Keigo Mizutani, 
Lubomir Pentchev, Sascha Somov, Simon Taylor, Tim Whitlatch, Beni Zihlmann


    Announcements, Eugene

  * Please take a look at the memo from Lab Management on needs for
    equipment for use at home.
  * Test for beam heating in an HD-Ice target using a 5-10 MeV electron
    beam in the Test Lab had disappointing results.
  * S&T review recommendation: decide on a proposal for GlueX III
    coupled with KLF being on the long-term schedule
      o GlueX II will take 3 years to run
      o Praise for J/ψ result
      o Acknowledgment that detection of exotics is a difficult project
      o Sascha: should JEF make a proposal for non-concurrent running?
      o KLF should start installation in 2025
          + CPS is about 3 M$
          + 1 year to install, 2 to run
          + Pavel Degtiarenko has alternate to CPS using tagger and
            existing dump, places large radiation load in the Hall


    Work in Hall, Tim

  * continue on DIRC
  * general maintenance tasks
  * CPP preparations
  * help Sascha with JEF modules
  * refrigerator stays on
  * Lubomir: will do tests of gas system
      o will stop argon to CDC to test for oxygen
      o want to set parameters for TRD gas


    ERR for CPP, Eugene and Tim

  * meeting held last Thursday
  * another one scheduled for Dec. 17
