Hi Everyone,

Unfortunately I was unable to attend yesterday's meeting, but wanted to share a brief update on flux monitor simulation progress before we break for the holidays. We have a final year undergraduate project student, Ben, working with a stand-alone Geant4 simulation of the detector components to optimise final layouts. He's making good progress, and I've added a couple of figures to the wiki page from yesterday's meeting with his latest results comparing acceptance and resolution for various layout scenarios.

His colour schemes and naming conventions aren't the most accessible, but the T's in the legend labels refer to tracker layer positions, P's for the "pizza slice" scintillators (start detector), F's for the high resolution scintillators and the E for the stop detector.

His predecessor summer student managed to partially implement some components into the Hall D software on a local branch, and I am continuing that work, initially just a generic layout scenario, which can be updated as Ben's studies continue.

We've been documenting some of this work on overleaf, which will hopefully end up being a technical note. It needs a few updates to reflect the latest progress, but you can view it as it stands here https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.overleaf.com_read_vbbbxqstzmqx-23f8b30d&d=DwIGaQ&c=CJqEzB1piLOyyvZjb8YUQw&r=RlEsaFp8D0NPe1UW2n96woC0o_drOLa0fpikeV6J-ug&m=CkJZEwsE7zB03jkF49cKn7UXy63TP1n3nc-Bz56QSB3w97RKIKfDzgfSiOljHp8c&s=sUgSEnv951ZgoXyyKqYpRLIMEPmO11G4AuGWc599mlo&e= <https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.overleaf.com_read_vbbbxqstzmqx-23f8b30d&d=DwMDaQ&c=CJqEzB1piLOyyvZjb8YUQw&r=RlEsaFp8D0NPe1UW2n96woC0o_drOLa0fpikeV6J-ug&m=Ymlc6ChqyCaVXr6YBXJMdYNLJJeGopOGxoP7DauGIfX5F5KGaAD4P2s7NACs7cZJ&s=J5fxbc--46xF1-gx5RQndwHXFFN4T56SbEHG68ZWYBM&e=>
