Hi Beni,

In the proposal we presented to rate of KL on LH target.
It is attached to this message. Yes, lot of them are absorbed and only some fraction
of KL arrive to the target. Therefore, as you also found at low momenta the flux of KL is low, as you can see.
The plot represents the flux versus momentum, so in a sense your calculations show that percentage of low momenta is low, but one has to normalize it not to the arbitrary 10K thrown,
but how many of them are produced and how many arrive to the target.

This already has been done.

Thanks for your message and best regards,
Moskov.

Subject: [Halld-klf] KL beam line check

Attached you find a short note about simulating Klong beam in the
Be-production
target and test how many may reach the liquid hydrogen target.
As you can see the transmission rate is below 10% for any Klong below
2000MeV/c

Also it looks like it is very important to have good shielding along the
beam line
all the way from the start of the beam line to the exit of the alcove
and also
before the cryogenic target to prevent particles from entering the CDC gong
along z over the full length of the CDC. such particles are devastating
for CDC
operation.

cheers,
Beni
