[Halld-level1] [Halld-online] High intensity running - a work page

Dear Colleagues,

The situation with the review was confusing:

The review was not discussed within the group.
Some of the referee's findings could have been
addressed before the review.

We will for sure discuss the L1 trigger performance
at high luminosity on one of the next L1 trigger
meetings. Some studies have already been done.
In spring, the L1 was operated with loose thresholds
in order to acquire low-energy hadronic interactions;
trigger settings will be different at high beam current
(some numbers presented at the review may be significantly
wrong)

I was planning to do L1 high-rate performance tests
in spring but we were not able to run at high
luminosity - the L1 tests should be scheduled in the
fall.

Another topic to discuss is the performance of the
FDC and TOF at high intensity.

Cheers,
       Alex

Subject: [Halld-online] High intensity running - a work page

Dear colleagues,

The report of the readiness review for the high-intensity running is
available at the review page:

https://halldweb.jlab.org/wiki/index.php/GlueX_Level-3_Trigger_Meeting,_Jul_22,_2016

The management decided to accept the application from the GlueX-II (50
MHz beam in the peak) for running in the Fall of 2018. However, we are
expected to develop the details of the needed upgrade and to report
the progress to the same review panel. I assume that we should present
a plausible plan in a month or so, in order to secure the FY17 funds
for the upgrade.

David and I made a work page for the project. It is already populated
with some information, and with a set of questions the group has to
answer, summarizing the discussions we had during the last week.
Please feel free to edit it, adding question, writing comments or
answers.
