[Halld-offline] observations after updating to the latest trunk version and hangup problem

Kei,
Once again, I want to emphasize that "DISABLE_SIMD=1" is not a satisfactory fix. Please see my earlier note to Matt for a diagnosis of the segfaults you were seeing earlier. IMO, you are better off to understand the fault than stumble around it like this. In the long run, we should all be running with SSE or without, not some with and some without. All presently running hardware (except museum pieces) supports SSE, but you have to build on the hardware where you want to run it.
