[Halld-offline] HDDM file suffix requirement

Dear Offliners,

  I’ve committed a change to sim-recon this morning that now requires all HDDM and REST files
to have a “.hddm” suffix in order to be read by DANA programs. This was motivated by a
long stall that would occur when opening EVIO files. This happened because JANA determines
whether a file is HDDM(or REST) by test opening it and checking if there is an error. For HDDM,
it was apparently scanning through the entire file. This was taking a very long time, stalling the
opening of an EVIO file for several minutes.

  We can reduce this restriction by adding more allowed suffixes in sim-recon or by modifying
HDDM to recognize that it is attempting to read a foreign file type more quickly.
