I just moved David's REST compression selection switch option onto the 
trunk. See his original message describing it below.

Recall that the branch and all recent tags already have this.

Hi Mark,

   I just committed a change to the branch that allows you to turn off 
compression of the HDDM output stream. It is not turned off by default 
so you will need to add the argument -PHDDM:USE_COMPRESSION=0. It should 
print a message indicating whether the compression is enabled or not so 
you can be sure what it’s doing by examining the output.
