[Halld-offline] Fwd: how to make evio files from simulation

Hi all,
Following the discussion at the Offline meeting yesterday, I went ahead and
changed the Hit Factory code so that the per-detector time offsets are
loaded from the CCDB instead of being hardcoded.
What does this mean for you? If you are running over HDDM files, this
change doesn't affect you. If you are running over EVIO files
corresponding to actual data, then you don't have to do anything (the
default time offsets are set to 0). If you are running over EVIO files
created from simulated data, then you need to select the "mc" CCDB
variation (the time offsets for this variation are currently set to the
-100 ns default used in the HDDM -> EVIO conversion). To do this, you
should set the environmental variable
JANA_CALIB_CONTEXT="variation=mc"
Of course, if you generate the EVIO files using the rawevent plugin with a
non-standard version of t_min (this parameter can be set on the command
line), you should change the per-detector time offsets in a local SQLite
copy of the CCDB.
Please let me know if you have any questions about this change.
Cheers,
Sean
