[Halld-offline] new volatile disk hardware for halld

Folks,

The "halld" volatile disk is going to move to a new file server running 
a modern version of Lustre. The switch should be nearly transparent to 
users; files will be rsync'ed to the new server and then the link cut 
over to point to the new partition. The only catch is the period just 
before and including the cut-over. If new files are being written to the 
old partition while the final rsync is in progress, or during cut-over, 
they may not make the transition successfully. For this reason we want 
to have the disk quiet (as far as writing) for a few hours before cut-over.

I would like to schedule this quiet period for Thursday morning, June 
25, from 8 am to noon. Then we will do the cut-over. Let me know if this 
schedule is not convenient for any reason.
