[Halld-offline] Learning to use hdgeant

Hi Reinhard, Viren,

First a general comment: If you are generating simulated data, you should
not use the "default" CCDB variation - it will give you incorrect results
that will undoubtably leave you confused and unhappy. I suggest starting
with the "mc_generic" variation, which provide a default run-independent
set of calibrations & conditions. When you're ready to generate
simulations that correspond to actual data taking, you can use the "mc"
variation.

It can be selected by setting the environment variable
JANA_CALIB_CONTEXT="variation=mc_generic"

To your question, could you please describe how you are running mcsmear?
It seems like you are running hdgeant in the mode where it automatically
launches mcsmear?

Cheers,
Sean
