Hello Mark,
I have been working on support for HDF5 as an alternate disk file format
for hddm streams. HDF5 is an open-source standard for data interchange in
wide use within the scientific disciplines. Even though it is very old,
this standard is widely supported and well documented, which has increased
in the last few years with the support of the python i/o library h5py. I
will show a comparison of the disk footprints for the native hddm and hdf5
formats for our simulation and rest files, and a comparison of the i/o
performance between the two libraries. Will this fit today, or do you want
it at a future meeting?
