[Halld-offline] [EXTERNAL] fun fact about installing updated cern packages

Hello Mark and all,

I just discovered a fun fact regarding an easy path to always having the
right version of common packages installed on the local machine: just
install cvmfs and access the desired build from there, which is built and
maintained there by the developers on behalf of the LHC
experiments:multiple build options (debug, optimized builds), multiple
compiler versions. For example, just to install the latest G4 on my local
cluster, I used to have to build it several times (mutli-thread,
single-thread, debug, opt, ...) but now I just change a couple of lines in
my setup.sh to a new target on /cvmfs and presto. There are also builds
there for the Mac. Have a look at:

   - /cvmfs/geant4.cern.ch/geant4/
   - /cvmfs/sft.cern.ch/lcg/app/releases/ROOT/
