Dear Colleagues,

I went through the exercise to set up a working GlueX environment on a
Mac. It uses Docker Desktop with our AlmaLinux9 container and either the
binaries distributed via CVMFS or a fully built software stack on the
local disk.

All steps and some possible pitfalls are documented on this new wiki page:

https://halldweb.jlab.org/wiki/index.php/HOWTO_use_the_GlueX_environment_with_docker_on_a_Mac

It should allow you to develop code or run programs completely
independent of the JLab computing infrastructure.

Feel free to try it out, comment on it and improve the description.

Best regards,

Alex
