<p>We have over 200 branches in the sim-recon repository on GitHub.
Many of them (half or more) are marked as "Merged" by GitHub.
This means that all commits on these branches are also present on
the master branch. If the branch has not been changed for three
months, GitHub puts it in the "Stale" category. In order to clean
up the repository I am proposing the following policy:<br>
<br>
<b>All stale, merged branches are subject to deletion without
notification.</b><br>
<br>
In principle, no commits should be lost because of this policy and
we end up with a cleaner repository. I am putting this on the
agenda for the next Offline Software Meeting.<br>
