This release, <a moz-do-not-send="true"
href="https://github.com/JeffersonLab/ccdb/releases/tag/v1.06.07">CCDB
1.06.07</a>, makes a small change in the main query that
retrieves constants from the CCDB for use by client programs. A
change had crept in whereby the database indices, created in
advance to speed up retrieval of constants and in existence for a
long time, had been ignored. This change makes no difference in
the constants retrieved, rather it increases the rate of retrieval
of those same constants to where they should be. The improvement
has not been measured carefully but it is somewhere in the range
of a factor of 4 to 10 for the database-server part of constant
retrieval, the part that has been giving us trouble recently.<br>
<br>
This release of CCDB is used in the recently-released default
version set, <a moz-do-not-send="true"
href="https://mailman.jlab.org/pipermail/halld-offline/2020-March/003938.html">version_4.16.0.xml</a>.
If there is demand, it could be back-ported to previous version
sets rather easily. Let me know.<br>
<br>
Recall CCDB 2.0 is going to be here any minute...<br>
