    <p>Folks,</p>

    <p>I plan to backup and delete the following two directories on our

      group disk at JLab in week, on Tuesday, April 20.</p>

    <ul>

      <li>/group/halld/Software/builds/Linux_RHEL6-x86_64-gcc4.9.2</li>

      <li>/group/halld/Software/builds/Linux_CentOS6-x86_64-gcc4.9.2</li>

    </ul>

    <p>Both RedHat 6 (for desktops) and CentOS 6 (for the farm) have

      dropped out of the roster for builds of new software for many

      months now. I am not aware of anyone using them. This move is to

      free up space on the group disk.</p>

    <p>The backups will be written to tape. After deletion from the

      disk, restoration is straightforward should the need arise.<br>

    </p>

    <p>If there are any objections to this plan, let me know.</p>
