Friends,

I've built a new version set at JLab with upgrades of several of
the support packages we use. It is version
set 5.0.0. In particular we are upgrading the versions of
Geant4 and ROOT. Until now, we have been using Geant4 10.02.p02,
which was released on June 17, 2016 and ROOT 6.08.06, which was
released on March 2, 2017.

This version set is the same as 4.46.0
(released a couple of days ago) except for updates to the
following, non-GlueX-specific packages:

geant4 10.02.p02 -> 10.04.p02

lapack 3.6.0 -> 3.9.0

root 6.08.06 -> 6.24.04

sqlitecpp 2.2.0 -> 3.1.1

sqlite 3.13.0 -> 3.36.0

xerces-c 3.1.4 -> 3.2.3

The following GlueX packages are slightly different from those
used in 4.46.0, but the changes are only to their respective build
schemes, changes that allow building against the new support
packages. There are no functional differences:

halld_recon 4.29.0 -> 4.29.1

halld_sim 4.33.0 -> 4.33.1

hdgeant4 2.29.0 -> 2.29.1

These versions of Geant4 and ROOT have been in limited use by
collaborators for months now. Still issues may arise. This is a
big version jump. If you find any problems let me know. We can
always drop back to 4.46.0 if we need to.

Version set 5.0.0 will become the default at JLab at midnight
tonight.
