[Halld-online] gnome desktop installed on gluon47

Hi All,

 Yesterday, with the help of Paul L. I installed gnome desktop packages on gluon47. This allows us to
run virtual desktops such as a VNC server. The purpose is to try and move some of the vnc servers
from the gluon01-gluon05 machines to gluon47. 

 Installing the gnome packages required updating of quite a few packages on gluon47. Consequently,
there may be some issues emerge when running on this machine. I’m hoping this is not the case,
but if anyone notices anything strange when running gluon47, please let me know.
