About 34TB of space was made on gluonraid1 in preparation for the upcoming run. All files were deleted from the /raid/rawdata/volatile/RunPeriod-2014-10 directory tree and only those with an "age" of greater than 30 days ("age" is the most recent of ctime, mtime, or atime). Thus, recently accessed files were spared.
Deletion is done from the hdsys account on gluonraid1 using the following commands:
> cd /raid/map_disk
> map_disk_autodelete.py -p 90 -t /raid/rawdata/volatile/RunPeriod-2014-10 -m 30 -d
where:
"-p 90" says to try and make the disk 90% empty
"-t /raid/rawdata/volatile/RunPeriod-2014-10" says to only delete files in the /raid/rawdata/volatile/RunPeriod-2014-10 directory tree
"-m 30" says the minimum age of targeted files should be 30 days or more
"-d" says to actually delete the files
Note that running the same command without "-d" will tell you what would be deleted, but won't actually delete anything.
