[Halld-online] CODA 3.04 .setup and Myaviewer

Hi All,

  I’ve modified the /gluex/coda/3.04/.setup file to only set the TCL_LIBRARY and friends 
environment variables when running on RHEL5 (i.e. the ROCs). Setting these was 
preventing Myaviewer from running (thanks to Elton for pointing this out). This looks
like a change that was made to the CODA 3.03 .setup file by someone in Hall-D at
one point. The file is maintained in an svn repository by the DAQ group. It looks like
they weren’t notified so the change was not propagated into CODA 3.04. Dave A. is
now aware of this and will update the svn repository to reflect this change.

  I’d like to suggest the following:

1. When making changes to a centrally managed file like this, consider putting a comment
next to it indicating who made the change, when and if appropriate, why. It may save
someone else some trouble tracking down the problem in the future and having to reinvent
the same solution.

 2. Changes to the CODA .setup file should be communicated to the CODA group
so that the repository version gets updated and the change will propagate into the
next CODA release.


Please let me know if you run into any other issues since the switch to CODA 3.04.
