The cheeseplate was labelled with the #1 straws all at 9 o'clock (ish). The electronics mapping all used the numbers on the cheeseplate. There's an offset between the cheeseplate numbers and the index number of the straw for which the position is given in the XML file, for most but not all of the axial rows the offset is 0, for the stereo rows the offset is approximately +/- 5. Both sets of labels are on the cheeseplate diagram but it's not immediately obvious.</div></div></span></div></span></div></span></span><br class="Apple-interchange-newline">

The red dots label straw #1 in each ring. The cut was taken through the approximate midplane of the CDC at z=90cm, and the view is taken looking from the downstream end of the CDC. I don't see how any of these labels can be off by 5 straws in any layer, unless the numbering was assigned to start from 1 at the upstream face??? Based on this image, can you tell me how to shift each layer to get the numbers consistent with the electronics diagrams?</div>

<div><p>The combined BCAL/CDC cosmic run showed small issues with the alignment of both the CDC and the BCAL. The BCAL was rotated by 1/2 module w.r.t. what was in the software. This has since been fixed and is now corrected in all of the pictures below. The CDC stereo straws were also indicating problems since many tracks had stereo wires not crossing the track itself. This was tracked down by Naomi, Curtis (with some help from Simon) to be straw numbering issue where many of the layers had straw 1 in the software shifted by ~5 wires.</p><p>This was fixed in the XML and the results are shown in the pictures below. These show 2 different events with a before and after version. The fix is not yet committed to the repository due to changes committed just recently (today) relating to the GEANT4 effort. Once those changes have been resolved with this fix, that will be checked in and made available as well.</p>
