Over the past week or so I’ve been learning how to use Git from scratch, during which I’ve written a guide that spells out how to do the basic things necessary for GlueX.  This is essentially a distilled version of the information contained in the many links/talks/instructions that Mark posted:

Most of you have probably figured all of this out already, but I hope it can help other people who are new to git like I am.  Note that it doesn’t contain some of the more advanced things, but it should be plenty of information to get people started.
