[Halld-physics] Cancel today's meeting and scheduling for 2018 Re: Physics Working Group Meeting: Tuesday, Dec 12 @ 11:15 am

Hi All,

There were no analysis updates or other topics brought forward for today’s meeting, as it seems most people are preparing to analyze the ver02 REST data which is currently in production.  So I propose we cancel today’s meeting.

Since we will not have another Physics WG meeting in 2017, I think it’s worth briefly reflecting on our progress this year.  We published our first physics paper, created 3 active working groups, analyzed the data collected in Spring 2017 and had a successful DNP mini-symposium discussing these new results.  As we’re all acutely aware, the challenge now is to turn these preliminary results into publications.  To that end, I am planning to proactively schedule the Physics WG meetings in 2018 with particular analyses to be discussed at each meeting (with an emphasis on early publications from the ongoing REST production).  I will be contacting several analysis groups about this schedule over the next week, but your input on the analyses to be discussed (and when they could be presented) is certainly welcome.
