Hi All,
We’ll reconvene at 3 pm in F326 for the closeout discussion. As discussed this morning, each task should provide a short report on:
-what was accomplished during the workfest?
-what are the remaining steps to complete this task, and what is the timescale for presenting those results?
-what are the additional simulation or analysis launch needs for these tasks?
After today’s discussion Sean and I will try to collect these into a summary of accomplishments and plans for future work that came from the workfest.

Thanks to Alex, Thomas and Mark we have tagged versions of the software built on the ifarm and OSG, and jobs running to prepare new data and MC samples for your studies. Please find instructions for setting up the default environment on the ifarm at https://halldweb.jlab.org/wiki/index.php/GlueX_Analysis_Workfest_2018#Workfest_Software_and_Conditions <https://halldweb.jlab.org/wiki/index.php/GlueX_Analysis_Workfest_2018#Workfest_Software_and_Conditions>. As we make additions to sim-recon, etc. for the workfest please use the workfest2018 branches so we can keep a consistent set of code for everyone to work with next week.

>> As a reminder, we will provide analysis TTrees for many reactions following the ReactionFilter and other plugins in this configuration file https://github.com/JeffersonLab/gluex_workshops/blob/master/workfest_2018/analysis_workfest.conf <https://github.com/JeffersonLab/gluex_workshops/blob/master/workfest_2018/analysis_workfest.conf>. If you have other reactions or plugins you would like to be included, please let us know.

>>> The GlueX Analysis Workfest starts 1 week from today! The wiki page now contains a detailed list of tasks that we hope to make progress on during the Workfest and the names of people who indicated interest in those topics. If you would prefer to contribute to some other task during the Workfest, or have questions about the scope of these tasks/deliverables, please let me know. The tasks are roughly broken down into 2 teams, and I’ll leave it to you to provide the mascots...

>>> Logistically, we are preparing a tagged version of sim-recon, from which we plan to reconstruct a sub-sample (<10%) of the 2017 low intensity data, and generate associated samples of MC on the OSG for the various reactions that may be relevant for the different tasks (please see the wiki page for details). If you have additional data samples you anticipate needing, please add them to the table on the wiki page.
>>>
>>> Also, a GitHub repository has been created for the workshop https://github.com/JeffersonLab/gluex_workshops/tree/master/workfest_2018 <https://github.com/JeffersonLab/gluex_workshops/tree/master/workfest_2018>, where we can maintain any scripts, documentation, etc. that are developed as part of the workshop. If you have specific plugins that you would like to use for any task that are not already in sim-recon, please put them in this repository. Also, in this repository there is a JANA configuration file containing the plugins needed to be run over the data and MC samples for the different tasks. If you have additional plugins or ReactionFilter reactions you would like include, please add them directly or let me know.
>>>
>>> The agenda for the Workfest is posted on wiki page as well, and as a reminder we will have informal presentation/discussion sections in the morning and afternoon each day where people should aim to give updates on their group’s tasks.
