Dear all,
At Sean's suggestion, I am sending out the abstract for a presentation I'm
hoping to give at the UK Institute of Physics' annual Nuclear Physics
Conference (https://iop.eventsair.com/np2023) for discussion. The
submission deadline is Feb 5th which I appreciate is a bit soon, but do
let me know if there are any changes that people would be happy to see.
Abstract:
The GlueX experiment at Jefferson Lab studies the hadronic spectrum via
photoproduction on a LH2 target. The almost fully hermetic detector and
its particle identification capabilities allows for the reconstruction of
a large number of final states, including ones with strange quark content.
One of the experiment's primary goals is to study hybrid meson candidates
-- mesons that could possess an additional gluonic degree of freedom. This
talk gives an update on the status of the analysis for the reaction
channel $\gamma p \longrightarrow K^+K^-\gamma \gamma p$, looking in
particular at the excited $\phi$ meson state $\phi$(1850) and the hybrid
meson candidate Y(2175).
Thanks and all the best,
Darius
