<p>Dear Collaborators,<br />
Around 21:00 last night, as Richard was performing the Active Collimator checkout, he identified the AC was not responding to the beam location and concluded AC was not connected. Without AC, Hovanes was able to center the beam (with the profiler) and we completed some empty target (radiator) runs overnight.</p>
<p>The AC issue was resolved with early access by Nick with Radcon support. We completed all beam check-out items around 14:00 today (thanks to great work by Hovanes and Richard), and successfully proceeded to complete the detector calibration part of the run plan. </p>
<p>We are currently running at 2nA CW and in the process of setting up the snake scan for overnight operation. One of the challenges is the observed bleed-through when Hall C operates at 70uA, the rate at CCAL is doubled compared to the expected; and when Hall C at 40 uA, the rate is in a safe range for calibration. Thankfully, Hall C will not run 70uA throughout the night, but will frequently change current between 45-70uA for different calibration runs. We do not expect a stable low current run tonight. Note that the current bleed-through will not be suitable for TAC run.</p>
<p>Thanks to Matt, a longer cable for the counting-house microphone is installed, and the communication quality between the counting-house and the remote shifter should be even better. </p>
<p>Remote shifters: please don't hesitate to give our feedback, so we can make further improvements. If you could not see the counting-house through webcam or hear, please let the local shifter know immediately.</p>
<p>Since the PD-RC call will occur at 9 am tomorrow morning, we will have a run meeting tomorrow morning at 10:00 am.In addition, we are still looking for a Run Coordinator between Sep 30 - Oct 5th, please consider volunteering yourself for the post if you are local. </p>
<p>Looking ahead, tentatively, we are planing on Berylium target installation starting at 7:00 am on Monday, hall will be surveyed for this work. This will be a great opportunity for service work such as FCAL PMT replacement, etc.</p>
