Chuck,
I would like to push along the process of making the remaining TOF support structure components. This mostly entails ordering materials and FSU shop work, but we do need to make sure we have final drawings. My big concern is regarding the Aluminum light guide support blocks(aka, cheese blocks). The FSU shop is estimating 1-2 months for fabrication.
Here is the list of remaining item which I understand FSU will make. Also, below is a list of completed items.
[1] Aluminum light guide support blocks:
* JLab needs to finalize and send the drawings to FSU
* FSU needs to quote material needs
* Materials needs to be purchase as soon as possible
* Long lead item to manufacture (1-2 months)
[2] Threaded rods for channel frame
* We would like permission to use grade 8 threaded rod stock and remove threads in areas not needed(this will provide a little extra spacing for light guides)
[SAE J429 Grade 8 : Medium Carbon Alloy Steel, Quenched and Tempered; Proof Load 120,000psi; Yield Strength(min) 130,000psi; Tensile Strength(min) 150,000psi]
* FSU needs to quote material needs
* Materials needs to be purchase
* Minimal lead item to manufacture
[3] Beam hole support box
* Materials needs to be purchase
* Minimal lead item to manufacture
Components which are completed and at FSU:
[1] Iron magnetic shields are ready to ship
[2] Aluminum shield collars w/ set screws are ready to ship
