Hi,
Here is a summary of our plans discussed this past Monday. Please let me know if I missed something or have anything wrong. Also, I would like to confirm the items I have listed (?) as Tom either coordinating or purchasing.
Paul
To eliminate over constraining the modules we agreed to open up the TOF support frame to 100.5" x 100.5".
===Task list====
* Open holes in channels
- two holes on each channel need to be enlarged by 1/4" on the OD.
- the hole location is the 10th hole from the end on both sides, the ~1/4 & ~3/4 location (most have been marked).
- including all 8 channels, 16 holes need to be enlarged
- Tom will take care of this by Monday (?)
* Slot-open the bolt holes in Aluminum holding blocks
- a 1/2" slot is being machined in each holding block
- this will allow the frame and stud movement (1/4" on both sides) while keeping the holders fixed to the light guides
- Paul is having the work done at the FSU Machine Shop and will deliver the parts next week
* Open up TOF frame and square to 100.5"
- Tom will coordinate this effort by Monday (?)
* Replace channel end bolts with threaded rod
- first (vertical) TOF layer:
--replace outer channel bolts with threaded rod and set nuts
-- bolts can be used for the inside channel holes
- second (horizontal) TOF layer
-- replace both channel bolts with threaded rod and set nuts
- Tom will order new rods and nuts for delivery by Monday (?)
* Replace channel Buna-N rubber (thicker/softer)
- first (vertical) TOF layer:
--currently 3/32" (50A Durometer) change to 3/16" (40A Durometer)
- second (horizontal) TOF layer:
--currently 3/16" (60A Durometer) change to 1/4" (40A Durometer)
-Paul will order new Buna-N material for Monday
* Repair remaining TOF module
- Hussein will complete the repair of the last damaged TOF module.
