Hi Paul et al.,

The note from Chris below, from what I can tell, addresses only the
issue of integrating the TDCs into the readout (i.e receiving
trigger signals, gates, etc), but not the use of the TDCs as inputs
to the trigger. From the beginning the tof were considered to be
used as inputs to the trigger, but I know that Sasha's simulation
showed that calorimeter inputs may be sufficient. However, I don't
know if we want to eliminate this option, or at least this should be
considered in the decision.

Cheers, Elton.
The good news is that a fanout board has been developed
that distributes the clock from our Trigger Interface (TI)
board to a V1290 TDC. This way there is no need to modify
the commercial (CAEN) boards, and the signal integrity of
the fanout board has been tested with a full crate, using
the front panel clock/trigger connection. (Hall B - Sergey
B.) The TI can be used in a '64x crate and it makes sense
to use a '64x crate in this instance, because the VXS
crate features would not be used by the CAEN TDC. If you
wanted to use other JLAB VXS payload modules in lets say
half the crate, you could still use the CAEN TDCs with the
front panel clock/trigger fanout from the TI.
I have copied William Gu on this message since he was the
