Paul,
Not yet, but I will make it an agenda item for our next working group
meeting, scheduled for a week from today. Thanks for bringing this to
my attention. If you need something in the mean time, you can state
that we have two needs for disordered radiators.
1. For endpoint running, esp. the Primex measurement in which having
a bremsstrahlung target that behaves like an atomic scatterer
(Bethe-Heitler) without CB corrections makes computing and fitting
the endpoint spectrum much simpler.
2. For setting up and commissioning the beam line and tagger, we will
certainly want a small array of targets with different
thicknesses, in order to be able to distinguish different
contributions to the background in the tagger, and also to be able
to study how the tagging efficiency depends upon electron beam
current. The latter point is related to variations in beam shape
and motion that are seen as the S/N in various electron beam
control loops improves with increasing beam current.
For item #2, we will want 2-3 radiators with different thicknesses that
vary by factors of 3-10. For item #1, we will ask the Primex team to
specify what they want to see. They may be content with one of the
radiators we specify for item #2, but we will leave that up to them.
