[Halld-tracking-hw] FDC meeting CANCELED

Dear all,

Due to the weather conditions the lab will close at 1pm and we have to 
cancel our meeting today. Still, there are some links/pictures in the 
agenda you may want to look at. During the last few weeks there was 
significant progress in many directions:

- Clean room construction goes fast (see linked pictures)
- All the PCBs are back from the company after cleaning. Last information 
from Chris: they look good and hold the nominal HV.
- First article cathode foils (4X3 panels) arrived and we started the 
inspection in the Hall B clean room. We have remarks concerning the 
packing, but other than that there were no problems found on one of the 
panel that was inspected. Allflex expects yield of 80-85% (see the attached 
report showing also what some of the problems they had during the 
production).
- Wire stringing: most of the parts are mounted, waiting for the 
strongback. We got the stepper motor controller.
- Tension measurements were demonstrated (see attached pictures) to work 
using permanent magnet and ~10mA AC from a generator put on the 
individual wires. Same laser sensor (as for the position measurements) was 
used to measure the amplitude of the oscillations and find the resonance.
- Using methane in the chamber resulted in significant reduction of the 
after-pulses and very high gains were achieved.

I don't think it will be practical to have a meeting next week, so happy 
holidays to everybody and we will meet again in January!
