[Halld-tracking-hw] Drift Chamber meeting Thu 01/07/16 1:30pm F326/327 (fwd)

Morning all,

Before Lubomir gets the minutes out I wish to issue a correction or rather
a complete retraction of something I said yesterday. :-)

This is about the "incomplete events" aka "unexpectedly short events"
where the flash outputs fewer samples than expected. The sim-recon code
hd_root used to crash when it met these. David fixed this before Xmas so
that instead it populates the calculated quantities (integral time etc)
but the window raw data samples are all zero. My code continued to crash
for some time after the fix (I blame git)(or the user) but after whining
about it in the meeting I ran the code again and now it works correctly
and so at last I can count how often the error occurs. In the first file
from run 3923 there are 0 instances in 16590155 entries. In the second
there are 148 instances out of 16673911 entries. I don't know about the
other files yet.

Confused? The summary is that very occasionally the fa125 does not give
us quite as many raw samples as we asked for, and when this happens the
offline software carries on just fine, ignoring the raw data for the hit
with missing samples. This is issue #5 on

Naomi.
