Hi Curtis,

We will make the other standoffs .05 longer and not use teflon washers.
Slava will email the drawing we intend to use for the 12 for your
review before fabrication.
Hi Tim and Slava -

Thanks for modifying the standoff-bolt. We only needed the base of
the standoff to be 1/2 inch
diameter (about 1/8 inch or so above the teflon washer). Beyond that,
it could be reduced back
down to the original 3/8 inch.

As for the other 24 standoffs, they do not need to have the Teflon
washers. It was the issue
of trying to minimize the torque to the end plate when tightening the
rods that worried us. This
will not be an issue with the other 24 stand offs. However, if we we
want to make all 36 pieces
the same length, then we could put the washers under all of them.

Finally, to be complete, it would probably be good at some point to
show the Teflon washer
between the bolt and the end plate.

Go ahead and get them made -- Curtis, Naomi and Gary
In the current configuration (shown yesterday and originally shown last

modified the design this morning (see attached sketch) and was able to
make room. It will be tight on assembly though but should work.

Unless you have any objections, we will pursue having 12 stand-offs
made as you requested below.

A word of caution: All the studs should be torqued evenly in order to
attempt to compress the thick teflon washers evenly.

Do you wish to have the teflon washers under all the remaining 24
standoffs?
Cheers,

Hi Tim,
We have discussed the spacer stud (stud for tube-spacer drawing D00000-01-02-2016) and would like the following, please:
diameter of piece going into support rod to be 0.3125 with tolerance +0 and - 0.001 inches;
machine the piece starting from 0.5 inch stainless steel (not 0.375") to leave a shoulder at least 0.125 inch thick on the outside of the endplate (so that the teflon washer can be used between the two).
The teflon washer will be 0.05 inches thick so this might require the length of the rod to be reduced.
Thankyou,
Naomi, Curtis and Gary.

Hi All,
I should have sent a reminder Friday but we scheduled a discussion on CDC assembly for this afternoon (set 2 weeks ago) at 2: 30. We will see you on ESNET. Slava posted drawings etc at:
http://www.jlab.org/~vgr/CDC%20Preliminary%20Drawings/
Agenda is on the wiki
