[Halld] Update on commissioning

Dear collaborators,

After waiting most of Saturday for beam, we had a productive evening: Alex Barnes was able to finalize the photon beam set-up by doing the 2D photon beam scan on the active collimator. Then we had a good night of beam, taking straight track data for Drift Chamber alignment. With Hall A planning to be up at all time today (Sunday), we expect a nice beam today too. Most of the work will be dedicated to commissioning the goniometer. Ken Livingston, Hovanes and Paul Mattione are working on that now. We will also take some data in production mode, continue the trigger commissioning, take some data for the Microspcope optimization, and take more straight track data. On Monday, Hall A will be down for their cryotarget cool down. This takes at least a shift. So, we asked accelerator to consider the setup of a witness beam during this time, or another solution to lock the orbits, so that we do not run in the same problems as Friday and Saturday.

David Lawrence is taking over the RC duties today and Monday.
