[Halld] Update on commissioning

Dear collaborators,

We gathered good straight track data overnight for DC alignment. The day was not as fruitful: we had a long beam down time, from 10:30am to 5pm. Part of this was due to an invasive Hall A beam current monitor calibration, to a cycling problem with our tagger magnet and several problems in the accelerator (RF and local oscillator problems). Now that the beam is back, Trent Allison and Brian Bevins are finalizing the Fast Feedback commissioning. Sergei Furletov and Alex Somov are meanwhile continuing their works on the DAQ and triggers. Tonight, we will do some more production run on the amorphous radiator. Saturday, we will try to run on the 50 micron diamond radiator. Hovanes will setup the goniometer in the morning. If it turns out that we can efficiently run on the diamond, we will continue this until Monday morning. Otherwise we will run Sunday and Monday owl on the amorphous radiator. Some more trigger work may also occur this week end. The details of the runplan can be found at: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3337611
Analysis of the data are yielding good results: Justin presented this morning his analysis showing a clear rho peak, see https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3337421 This gives us hope that we may measure the rho asymmetry if the diamond run this week end is successful.

Best regards,

Alexandre Deur, Hall D Run Coordinator.
