[Halld] Scheduling experiments at JLab

Dear colleagues,

Let me explain/remind you the procedure to schedule experiments at
JLab.  Typically, there are two running periods each year, in Jan-May
and in Sep-Dec.

The current schedule is posted on

The current schedule covers a period Oct 2015 - Jun 2017. In June 2016
there will be a call for running requests for the next period: Oct
2016 - June 2018. Before submitting the request the experiment must
pass the ENP readiness review (Patrizia Rossi <rossi at jlab.org> is in
charge of these reviews). The request should be discussed with the
Hall leader beforehand.  The goal of the review is to fix the request
and the experimental configuration. It mostly concerns the new
equipment or non-standard configurations needed. In case the
experiment intends to use the standard configuration only, the review
would be simplified.

In summary, the spokespeople of the experiments to be scheduled for
Oct 2017 - Jun 2018 should plan to pass the readiness review before
June 2016.
