Dear Collaborators,

The news given at today's accelerator meetings (8am and 1:30pm) are quite good: the new transformer is installed and warming up. Actual load test will start tonight. The necessary twin of the new transformer will be set-up this week and tested during the week end. Baring unforeseen problems getting in the way of the repair, accelerator operation is scheduled to restart around the coming Monday (Mars 21st), with beam to Hall D by about the 23rd. Then, accelerator will investigate the high beam current problem they had before the transformer failure. This will be the priority, which means that the first few days of beam may be rocky for Hall D, but potentially usable.

On Monday Eugene and Beni will assess when to ramp-up the solenoid. Beni and Reinhard are also making sure that the counting room will be staffed for when the beam arrives. I will be temporary run coordinator until after the first few days of beam delivery. Then Naomi will take over. (With the present schedule, that would be the end of next week.) Once Naomi is done with her RC term, David Lawrence and I will take care of the RC duty until the end of the Spring run.

We will have a RC meeting tomorrow. For those present at JLab, it will be in room A110 (8:45am).

Thank you,

Alexandre Deur, temporary Hall D Run Coordinator.
