Dear Marie and others,
I believe that the request for this "training" was sent on Dec 15.
If you are uncertain whether you have passed the training or not - ask your JLab sponsor.
Marie, your sponsor is Dave Mack. Anyway, I looked at JList and found that you passed this training yesterday.
Regards,
Eugene

Subject: RE: [Halld] Status of: Foreign Government Sponsored or Affiliated Activities
Dear Eugene,
The request sent to users yesterday is pretty scary: in short, "sign now or your account will be disabled Sunday night"...
I even thought it was a scam until I realized many people got the same email.
As far as I know, there were no previous email concerning this request, and users have not received previous notice or warning for this requirement (I had a similar agreement to sign in December but it is not the same, I double checked all my emails).
It would certainly worth that the lab extend this super short Sunday deadline (!!!), in order to give more time to people to figure out what and if they should sign. It would also be great that the lab provides more information on what this document is and implications, in particular for foreign users.
best regards,
Marie

Objet : [Halld] Status of: Foreign Government Sponsored or Affiliated Activities
Hi all,
This disclosure was initially set for the staff, and the staff has filled it some time ago. Then the users were included. It may still make sense for the users from US institutions. Obviously, users from foreign institutions are sponsored by foreign sources and I am surprised they are included.
It was supposed that collaboration agreements with the Lab would waver the need for users to fill the disclosure.
I will find out more info on it.
Concerning the current situation. The request was send in mid December. The sponsor of a user is notified by email that the training has passed. Apparently, people got automatic warnings yesterday, since I started receiving such notifications. Also, sponsors get lists of those who have not passed this training (Elton sent his list yesterday). I see that the procedure is confusing and people are trying many times, since sometimes I get multiple notifications about one user. I enclose a list of the people I sponsor, who still have not passed this "training" (as far as I counted the notifications). I can not see the status of those who are sponsored by other staff.
