[Halld_src] [EXTERNAL] Invitation to participation in the Hall D SRC/CT Experiment

Hi,
I think that the letter looks good enough to start discussion with group leaders
(perhaps you can list all spokespersons at the end of the email, I think that this way
the letter will look more formal, just an idea . . . )
Cheers,
Sasha

Next iteration, after our discussion today.

Dear [Group Leader],
The Hall D Short-Range Correlations / Color Transparency Experiment is scheduled to run from October — December, 2021, and I'm reaching out to invite you and your group to participate in the run. While this is not a formal GlueX collaboration experiment, everyone are welcome and invited to take part in our measurement. If you are interested, we would love to have you on board.
Our experiment will look at photo-production on a variety of nuclear targets (d, He, C, Cu) to study a wide variety of topics, including short-range correlations, color transparency, medium modification, photon structure, and many others. More information can be found on our wiki page.
https://halldweb.jlab.org/wiki/index.php/SRC@GlueX
We are also very also happy to extend our scope and discuss analysis of additional observables that our collaborators might be interested in looking at.
At this time, it would be very helpful to know if you and your group would like to participate in the data taking. If so, I would be grateful if you would send me a list of names of people in your group who are interested. Note that this does NOT obligate anybody to take a quota of shifts. At this stage, we are just gauging interest.
I'd be happy to talk with you if you'd like to learn more about our experiment or if you have any questions.
Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you,
Axel,
for the SRC/CT collaboration

We would welcome having students sit shifts. Our collaboration policy is that authorship on papers will be extended to anyone who sits [N] shifts or more.
If you are interested, or would like to talk to find out more, do let me know.
Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you,

Dear collaborators,
Here's a first draft of an e-mail that I or others could send to Hall D group leaders. Let's iterate on it and get it ready to send out. I'd appreciate your advice on striking the right tone.
Thanks for your help,
Axel

As you probably know, our experiment and GlueX have mutually decided to operate as separate collaborations, but everyone on GlueX is welcome and invited to take part in our experiment.
