Dear collaborators/colleagues/friends,

Hall-D RC report for Monday 29th of November, 2021

  *   Accelerator
     *   call luck, call efficiency but this day has shown a very steady beam OR at least the interruptions were no longer than 5min and not worthy to report.

  *   Experiment/Hall
     *   Perhaps today has been a little bit bumpy, but nothing serious
        *   Since the start production on Carbon the total number of triggers (today at 01:00) is ~11.3 B.
     *   ~21:15 FDC HV alarm jumped (acknowledge didn't work) so Beni applied his magic solving it.
        *   NOTE: please, i appreciate independent entry and a bit of explanation (if possible) of possible cause (if possible) and how was solved for future references.
     *   Malte indicated a FCAL channel which lost communication (it requires attention to the monitor plots to detect it). Shift Leader follow the detailed instructions solving the 'issue'

        *   Perhaps you think it is a bit redundant since the RCDB is available, but it helps our students for fast cross checks of the runs.
     *

  *   Run Plan
     *   run on carbon at 150nA
     *   run 250M events or 2h (rates are quite close to those in He, so 2h should be enough)
     *   rotate radiators 0/90, 45/135 in PARA and PERP configuration (both)

     *   ON WEDNESDAY is planned RF recovery AT LEAST for Day Shift (08:00 - 16:00). Marc, Malte, Rebecca have booked for fast FCAL maintenance and Sasha for the PS. Due to special care of the last, it will be requested AT LEAST (sorry for the repetition) survey in the PS area. BUT it was over the table if it is possible to have a walkthrough, which, as I understand, will require a deep survey (and probably the tagger). Right now there is one user for the walkthrough, please notify if there are more people interested. In the meanwhile, I will coordinate with Marc/Malte/Rebecca and Sasha about their needs.

REQUEST:

  *   your humble RC is happy to provide donuts, snacks and fruits to make your shift more comfortable, but please do not call me for sugar for the coffee to the RC phone, any call from the CH through the RC phone is scary, especially late night. You are open to send an email or even a text/SMS.

ANNOUNCE:

  *   Stan Brodsky Seminar: The Onset of Color Transparency from Holographic Light-Front QCD - Tuesday, 2021.11.30, 3:30 PM https://hit.lbl.gov/
     *   This seminar is quite related with the physics we are measuring right now.
