Hi,

Thanks Tim and all who contributed for putting the slides
together, it's a very nice status report highlighting physics
topics and activities.

As far as I know Eugene has already presented the status of
Hall D during this week, but I think that he can use some of
these plots in his future reports. Please link these slides
to our analysis page (you can do it after the meeting tomorrow).

Cheers,
            Sasha

Hi Axel and Or,

Thank you for your comments.

Axel, I agree.

Or, I am not familiar with the details (Phoebe & Axel need to answer that), but at least we see the difference between AV4 and the other two in the region between 0.4 and 0.8 GeV.
This is similar for example to the Fig. 2 from Axel’s paper…again I do not know enough to discuss the differences in the shape (maybe smearing/bing migration plays a role?).

Best,
Tim

Hi Tim,

Thanks for preparing this. I agree with Axel’s comments and have a technical question:

Fig. 2 should be the equivalent of the electros scattering (e,e’pp)/(e,e’p), right? If so, do we understand why AV4’ shows the tensor deep (which I think it shouldn’t), and why the raise in AV18 is relatively small? Also, how was the k_rel cutoff handled? the GCF should not really be able to give you such low-Pm values, or at least we should not use them…

Thanks a lot to everyone who contributed to this!

Dear Tim,
I agree that this should go out Monday. IMHO, it would be better that it go out in its current state than delay further.

However, if you have a little time:

- This document is longer and with way more text that I think Eugene is expecting. It's nice reference material, but given how long it is, it needs a front page with an executive summary, with the key bullets, along the lines of:

* Calibration, and cooking are finished
* Several reaction skims have been produced
* 9 current analyses are underway by
6 students and postdocs
* ALP is closest to publication (see page XXX)
* SRC is next (see page XYZ)

And then show a couple of the nice graphs with captions. That alone would make a clear 1 page summary of the 11 pages that follow.

- I would put affiliation with every student, just to show that all institutions are contributing labor.

- If at all possible, I would try to remove words, make bullets. I can help with pages 4, 8.

- p. 4 (Motivation) "in strong nuclear force." --> "in the short-range NN interaction"

- p. 4 (Status):
- A preliminary analysis work flow has been written
- rho0 events have been identified
- Studying backgrounds due to mis-identified π+ / protons
- Studying distributions with signal-only MC (see right)

- p. 8 (Motivation)
--> Add "test of Regge theory"

- p. 8 (Status)
- Preliminary analysis workflow has been developed
- Studying cuts to remove rho-0 contamination
- Studying feasibility with various binning schemes.

Those are my two cents. Thanks for putting this together,
Axel

Dear All,

My apologies that this took longer than expected, but here is the final analysis status update that was requested by Eugene Chudakov. It was my understanding that this is for internal use, so I hope that the format is acceptable.

Please check it if you can. Ideally if there will be no complaints or only minor corrections, I would love to see this go forward on Monday.

Thank you and best regards,
Tim
