Dear HPS Collaborators,

As we discussed at the recent HPS Collaboration meeting, the interim HPS
Executive Committee, comprised of Maurik, John, and Stepan as the
current spokespeople, is to solicit nominations for the HPS Executive
Committee (EC) and for the HPS Publications and Presentations Committee
(PPC), verify that nominated individuals agree to stand for election,
present the list of candidates to the collaboration, and hold an (email)
election. These two committees play very important roles in HPS
operations and governance and exercise considerable responsibility, so
these are significant positions.
Please nominate individuals for either/both of these two important
committees by sending names to Maurik, John, and Stepan. Be sure to make
clear which individual is nominated for which committee.

Remember that we will be electing a total of four new EC members and all
five members for the PPC. Our bylaws contain no restrictions about self
nominations, so if you have an interest in either or both of these
committees, please don't hesitate to nominate yourself. A description of
the duties of the two committees is contained in our new collaboration
rules, attached above.

Remember that two members of the EC will have two year terms, and two
will have a one year term in this our startup year. We propose to award
the two EC nominees who receive the most votes with the two year term,
and the two next in line with the one year term. All members of the PPC
serve for two years.
We ask that all nominations be sent to us before November 14, 2011. Once
we have the list, and once we verify that nominated individuals agree to
stand, we'll set up the election proper.

Please nominate!

Sincerely,

Stepan, Maurik, and John
