Dear all,

Here are updates on CEBAF machine and HPS activities at JLAB, and their
effect on our shift schedule:

CEBAF machine is now "cold" and getting ready to spin CW beam, if not
this weekend
then definitely begining of teh next week. It is expected to get the
first beam to Hall-D
(highest priority hall) some time on October 17. As plans stands now,
1st pass separation
will happen some time around October 26, only after that we will get
beam to Hall-B.

Installation in the hall progresses well, we will be ready for beam
commissioning to
the Hall-B tagger dump when beam will be available (end of October).

Installation of teh downstream beamline and HPS is also progressing
well. Some time in
mid November we will be ready to put the beam through HPS.
HPS calorimeter as well as vacuum chambers are installed. We will start
calibration runs
with LED and cosmics in few days.

Installation of the SVT is scheduled for the week of December 8 and will
take about a week.
We will open vacuum chamber on December 5 to get ready for the installation.

With machine delays and the installation schedule changes there are
changes in our shift schedule.
The shifts from December 5, 8am, to December 12, 4pm, are canceled. The
posted experiment
run schedule that has no beam for experimental halls during December 12
to 17 is outdated, we
expect beam during those days. So plan to be on your shift. Please look
out for emails on further
changes of the schedule.

Regards, Stepan
RC
