Hello everyone,

As mentioned during the last collaboration meeting, our next collaboration meeting will be in Orsay near Paris on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of July. You can find already some information on the website: http://hps.sciencesconf.org More will come soon.

In order to help students and postdocs attend the meeting by defraying the extra travel expenses associated with going to Europe, we encourage them to apply to the JSA fund.

Orsay has also secured some funding from the France-Stanford Center for Interdisciplinary Studies to help support travel to the Paris meeting. These funds will be managed directly by HPS. In order to distribute them fairly among the collaborators, we have established the following guidelines:

1. Funding is for collaborators from North America only.
2. Students and postdocs will have first priority, but there are sufficient funds that more senior collaborators may also receive grants.
3. Our goal will be to defray travel expenses which are above and beyond those for a collaboration meeting in the US.
4. Priority will be given to collaborators who are making a presentation at the meeting and are actively engaged in HPS.

Please apply for these no later than April 10th, so that we can know how many people need support.
Your application should state the amount you are requesting, justify that amount by estimating travel expenses to Paris and contrasting them to funds needed for a collaboration meeting in the US, and note any other funding sources you're considering. Please send your request to Raphael and John, cc'd above.

Best regards,
Raphael Dupre and John Jaros
