Dear HPS,

We are looking for two people who are willing and able to take on a leadership roles in the collaboration in the areas of Monte Carlo and Tracking. Both MC, from physics generators to final analysis, and Tracking, from SVT readout to fully vetted tracks, have come to the foreground in our recent analyses as areas that could use additional man power and oversight. A new position of “tzar” (“king”, “emperor”, use your favorite metaphor) for MC and one for Tracking would allow the efforts in these areas to have more coherence and drive.

What is involved?
We would expect that these positions are filled with somewhat more experienced people, i.e. post-doc or higher, who have a relatively high level of commitment to the experiment. They would also help recruit new people to their respective efforts.

Monte Carlo: The MC “tzar” would oversee the MC production, and help organize and check the results of the various production runs and analyses. This person would also direct improvements to the MC code base, the physics event generators, and the detector geometry.

Tracking: The tracking “tzar” would help organize the efforts and results of the tracking tests and analyses, direct the improvements to the code base and the detector alignment, and helps to ensure we have high quality results from our tracker.

Please contact John, Stepan and Maurik if you are interested in serving in either one of these positions, or if you know someone who you think would be an excellent fit for either one of these positions.

Best regards,

	Stepan, John, Maurik.
