[Hps] [Jlab-scicomp-briefs] JLab SciComp updates complete: CentOS 6.9, CUDA 8, 9

Dear Users,

The HPC upgrades for CentOS 6.9 and CUDA 8,9 are complete; the new /home, /dist, /work fileserver is in production.  We are adding a second interactive node to accompany qcd12kmi in the coming week, as the 2010 qcdgpu host failed last week.

For ENP batch computing, further discussions concluded that users requiring updated services switch to the production CentOS 7 farm environment. Therefore, the legacy ifarm1101 and 4 farm12 hosts will remain as is; no further upgrades are scheduled.  Several projects' data has already migrated to the new /work file server, and the FY18 purchase request is in for adding disks.
