SLAC Unix accounts have been provisioned with 'tcsh' as the default shell
for many years. However, it seems now that 'bash' is generally the
preferred shell. Therefore, we propose that going forward, all new
unix accounts will be created with 'bash' as the default shell.

This change will not affect any existing accounts.

Individual users will still have the ability to change their own shell by
logging onto rhel6-64 and running the 'ypchsh' commmand. Please contact
me by March 31st if you have any questions, concerns or objections
regarding this planned change.

John
