Sorry to come with bad news, we will be down another three days. Shifts till Thursday day (8 am EDT) are canceled.

Yesterday at the last leg of the SVT work, we run the top mover into the hard stop. The motor was spinning while the shaft was not. Basically, the TOP SVT position and the encoder reading are no longer synchronized. During the installation, the system was aligned within 50 um. Now we think it is off by a few hundred microns. This is not a workable state for a precision detector. So, the decision has been made to open the system tomorrow morning and have it ready for alignment. The alignment will take place on Tuesday. The system will be closed and pumped down on Wednesday. We hope to have HPS ready for beam on Thursday morning.
