Dear all,
as you probably know, Jefferson Lab is considering to use CEBAF to
accelerate an intense, polarized, high-energy beam of POSITRONS in the
near future.
The opportunities of such a new facility were discussed within the
community at JPOS17 conference and summarized in a white paper posted
here https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__arxiv.org_pdf_2007.15081&d=DwIDaQ&c=CJqEzB1piLOyyvZjb8YUQw&r=ErLkbYGWd8oSAZ70ywHxhA&m=iDBssCx-GzjPvRz-hBBpsNjTZU-QkEGwvlxuplcWoIM&s=d2xb7FN2KB3J_Dh8LrMM0yxqMK_dXIYEp80T2oJKU5M&e= .
A 10 GeV, ~uA ,highly polarized positron beam represents a great
opportunity to explore the Dark Sector in a new and complementary way
wrt the current fixed target electron and proton experiments.
We invited Enrico, Gordan and Luc to contribute to an extension of the
white paper bringing new ideas to be the base for new experimental
proposals to be presented to JLab PAC in the next year(s).
We set a town meeting to present these new ideas and discuss them with
the experimental communities (PADME, BDX, HPS, ...) that may be
interested in be part of this new physcis program.
Yoiu all are welcome to connect and participate to the discussion.
The (virtual) meeting will be on *Wednesday January 27 9:30AM-12:00PM
EST (15:30-18:00 ITA/FR)* with the following Agenda:
- 9:30-9:45: Brief presentation of the new positron facility
at Jalb (Eric/Marco)
- 9:45-10:00: Discussion on experimental aspects
- 10:00 - 10:30: Luc/Enrico s presentation
- 10:30-11:00: Gordan's presentation
- 11:00-12:00: General discussion

Please distribute this message to anybody in the field that may be
interested (in particular to the PADME collaboration and other
experimental colleagues)
Talk to you on Wednesday!
Cheers
Marco and Eric
