Dear All,
Please take note of this Snowmass survey on particle physics education. It’s an important issue, and I urge you to take a few minutes to participate if you are affiliated with a US institution.
Best,
Tim

Dear Dr. Nelson,
We’re contacting you as a representative of the LDMX and HPS collaborations. Would you please forward the following email on behalf of the Snowmass Particle Physics Education Survey group to the LDMX and HPS mailing lists? We would like to get the broadest representation possible to inform our whitepaper which will summarize the results of the survey and make recommendations to physics departments, experimental collaborations, and funding groups on ways to improve particle physics training. One important requirement is that the survey respondents must be located in the United States, to comply with institutional review policies.
Thank you for your help in spreading the word about this important community effort.

Dear colleagues,
The Snowmass Particle Physics Education Survey group has prepared a survey aimed at gauging missing elements of graduate and undergraduate education in particle physics and how to bridge those gaps, both within and outside the classroom. This includes development of technical and professional skills, awareness of training opportunities, career trajectories, and more.
The survey link is here: https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__berkeley.qualtrics.com_jfe_form_SV-5Fbd5m3k4EIcooO0e&d=DwIGaQ&c=CJqEzB1piLOyyvZjb8YUQw&r=ErLkbYGWd8oSAZ70ywHxhA&m=PZNuXXo-Nne9iQByIcWlltJAXLflNLlRm_r7u-AYycSr4oJeeXw7cTaaqEhyEf2h&s=GlTxd_RBDmPIPs74hcfXu8FPrMi5KAEF9ZYGRGdCYRo&e=
To ensure your response is included in our study, please fill out the survey by 4 March 2022. This survey is expected to take no more than 15 min. Your progress will be saved so you can return to it at any time (clearing your cache may affect this). Responses are anonymous and de-identified.
Who should take the survey? All members of the particle physics community, broadly defined, are encouraged to take the survey, including undergraduates with an interest in particle physics, graduate students, postdocs, faculty, staff, and anyone else who self-identifies as involved in particle physics. We furthermore encourage you to share broadly with your collaborations, departments, and students to get the broadest representation possible.
Unfortunately due to EU GDP regulations, only participants located in the United States may participate in this research study.
How will we use your responses? We will analyze the aggregated data and summarize our findings in a Snowmass contributed paper for the Community Engagement frontier. We hope that your experiences will help us identify specific areas of need and effective methods to address them so we can make recommendations to physics departments, experimental collaborations, and funding groups on ways to improve particle physics training.
In addition to the survey, we built a public forum so that you can share additional information and suggestions about educational resources that cannot be included in your survey response.
The forum link is here: snowmasseducation.com<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__snowmasseducation.com_&d=DwIGaQ&c=CJqEzB1piLOyyvZjb8YUQw&r=ErLkbYGWd8oSAZ70ywHxhA&m=PZNuXXo-Nne9iQByIcWlltJAXLflNLlRm_r7u-AYycSr4oJeeXw7cTaaqEhyEf2h&s=KsvQd6KCTnjlwBdz5ywUITbUyTu4NzYqrW1IUgg6vlU&e= > Due to technical restriction, the url is redirected to a previous url of the intended database.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email the study leads: Erin V Hansen at evhansen at berkeley.edu<mailto:evhansen at berkeley.edu>, or Vetri Velan at vvelan at berkeley.edu<mailto:vvelan at berkeley.edu>, or contact us on the Snowmass Slack channel #early_career_physics_education.
Thank you very much for your participation!
